Grafton and NORTHERN RIVERS
I worked for many years as a library manager for major NSW Libraries. During that time I developed my love of language and public speaking. I qualified as a Civil Celebrant in 2008, and have completed further training in conducting Funerals and other ceremonies.
I shares my life with my husband Joe and our much loved four legged friends. Joe and I have moved back to the Clarence Valley, and are settling in to our heritage home in Grafton. Joe is a born and bred Clarence lad, and I have lived in both Brooms Head and Lawrence during my time at Grafton Library.
My background was in retail, mainly sewing and craft. My husband and I were owner operators of sewing machine business's and craft shops. I have always been interested in creating beautiful things, whether it be cross stitch pictures or teddy bears.
My recycled vintage fur bears have found homes all over the world. My knowledge of creating these wonderful bruins has been passed on through my teaching others' my craft. This love of creating also comes into writing, something that I really enjoy is writing a story for my couples and the journey that has brought them to the point of saying I DO in front of their friends and family.
My background was primarily teaching improvised theatre skills to young people K-12 and as a consultant to drama teachers in the local area. I also had a passion for yoga and meditation and became a qualified teacher in this field which more recently has seen me specialise in teaching the mindfulness based stress reduction program in schools, at ongoing professional development days and also in the community.
From a career as a teacher and academic, my focus has been to connect with and impact positively on people's lives. I bring this philosophy to my work as a celebrant too. Life milestones deserve a celebration and weddings are the happiest of occasions
My background has always been working with families within the helping industries such as aged care, child care, disability support and counselling.
I’ve been a celebrant for almost 2 years now! Wow that time went quickly! I’ve had a lot of exposure to talking to people from one on one to large groups of people. I love to listen to people and enjoy being part of their special days. I've also realised all my life skills have come together in my role as a celebrant.
I chose the name "Rose Quartz Ceremonies" as I have a love of crystals & rose quartz means unconditional love and what more can we ask than to be loved unconditionally!
Having a love of poetry & rhyme I have composed many poems to suit different occasions and situations. My other interests include organic gardening, dehydrating herbs, natural health & fitness and I play the piano accordian!
I have a wide range of skills and experience including a background and training in drama, a professional career in coaching, operations and compliance and an absolute love of music (and my muso husband).
I have been married to my husband Ash for 13 years and together we have 2 beautiful children.
