Melbourne WESTERN suburbs
Over the years, I have worn a few hats in my time - as an artist, writer, performer, teacher, administrator, coordinator and manager. Now I have chosen to specialise in life celebrations. I've had great times interacting with many audiences as a performer, musician and mistress of ceremonies.
As a community artist and coordinator, I have been privileged to work creatively with people from all walks of life and have engaged with diverse communities.
As a writer, my pursuits have included poetry, songs, short story, feature articles, and script for theatre, radio and screen.
I have a background in communication skills and public speaking, working closely with a variety of people in many different walks of life. This enables me to create your ceremony which is unique to you and your circumstances. I like to give back to the community and volunteer at Epworth Hospital one day a week. My husband was well cared for there and it’s my way of saying ‘thank you’.
I have been a Civil Marriage Celebrant since 2008 and live in Melbourne, Victoria. This vocation seemed to be a natural progression for me as I love meeting new people, getting to know them and helping them to achieve their goals.
My past experience in communication and expression as a secondary school teacher, published poet and author helped to hone my public speaking skills.
Originally trained in education, I worked at kindergarten, primary and technical schools before moving into volunteer management and welfare, later working in all levels of government. My career has involved working with people, helping them to achieve satisfying solutions or conclusions to their issues and concerns. After my husband died, I raised our four sons alone. Three years ago, I married my childhood sweetheart. Being a mature bride myself brought home the reality of preparing for a wedding and dealing with the issues the day day threw up. My new husband and I live between our homes in Box Hill (Vic) and Narooma (NSW).
I was actively involved in the Marriage Equality campaign and I am very glad that it was successful.
I love finding out what is important to couples to ensue that the ceremony is right for them.
I enjoy live music and theatre, walking my dog and playing with my grandchildren.
