As a strong advocate for marriage equality, I am delighted Australian law has finally acknowledged every couple’s right to publicly declare their commitment.

Why I'm a celebrant: I love the honour of supporting people working through life events and helping to lessen the stress and I bring lots of positive energy, fun and humour when appropriate!

Treasured memories: Being able to officiate at my own children’s weddings was indeed a treasured gift for me!!

Another treasured memory was when I officiated at athe wedding of a close friends son. His grandmother had sadly died not long before the wedding! I had visited her in her last living weeks and we had talked about the fact she would not be at the wedding and I asked her if there was anything she would like me to say on her behalf. So during the ceremony I relayed my conversation and read a poem she badly wanted to share with them but had begged me to make sure it was a surprise!!

The couple (and everyone present! )were deeply moved and it turned out to be a very precious part of the ceremony!

Tips : . Being really clear about why you are getting married and what that means for you as a couple!
. Matching up with a celebrant who understands your vision and is there for you to create that vision!
. Remember to breathe and absolutely enjoy every minute!
