Hi, I’m Eduardo Lemos Couto. But, please, call me Eddie. I have worked many years in the Creative Industry, as a Copywriter, Art Director, Webdesigner and Creative Director. After many years working in several agencies back in Brazil, I decided it was time to see the world and expand my horizons. I ended up falling in love with Perth, its people, its climate, everything. I like to believe the love was reciprocated, since the city took good care of me and now I’m happy to call it home. I work as a Graphic Designer in a major commercial printer, which gives an interesting mix of technical and creative work - there’s never a dull moment!
I am a religious marriage celebrant** however religious content in your ceremony is optional. I was appointed as a civil celebrant in September 2016. I love my role as celebrant which enables me to honour and privilege of performing various ceremonies. I am a former Bank Manager and Justice of the Peace. Being a current Rotarian, I enjoy making a difference in the community and my celebrant role aligns with this vision.
As a funeral celebrant, I know that planning a seamless yet fitting funeral or memorial service for a loved one can be daunting. As a professional celebrant, I meet with bereaved families and friends to provide guidance and support to assist them to develop a fulfilling and uplifting ceremony. My caring and warm approach enables me to work closely with you to portray your loved ones unique and important life and memorialise their passing. I will then craft the ceremony and deliver a personalised funeral or memorial service that is dignified and respectful and honours the life of the deceased person. I can bring a sense of calm and confidence to the situation, to make it a memorable & profound occasion.
Originally born in West Yorkshire England, in a town called Pontefract - famous for it's liquorice factories - you may have eaten or heard of 'Pontefract cakes' - small black discs of liquorice stamped with the Pontefract crest, I migrated to Western Australia in 1976 with my husband arriving at Fremantle by ship we were a young married couple [in our 20's], we were enthralled by the lemon trees we saw growing in peoples' yards, as we were transported by minibus to Noalimba reception centre. It was a lovely sunny day, everywhere seemed to sparkle in the sunlight - very exotic! We knew we had made the right choice! And we had! Life has been wonderful for us in Australia, of course, it has been hard at times just like anyone else's life but ALWAYS entertaining! In the years from 1976 to today we have lived and worked and raised a family throughout Perth and its surrounds, the Northwest, and the Southwest. Now retired, we enjoy exploring the rest of Australia as Grey Nomads.
