Amanda Dennien Celebrant

For over 30 years, I have worked alongside families, community and government to ensure that all young children are afforded their right to learn through play. With my teaching career and as a proactive volunteer in my community, it made perfect sense to take the next step and become a celebrant. I love meeting new people and helping them plan and then conduct a ceremony that honours and celebrates their life event.

Why I'm a celebrant: I feel no shame in admitting that I am an absolute romantic at heart. I truly believe that LOVE is the answer to every question. Being a celebrant, I am able to honour love in so many ways. Even though I came to it later in life, being a celebrant has always been a dream of mine. All through my life I have attended weddings, funerals and other events, only to find myself mesmerised by the words and sentiment being delivered. For me, it’s always about the story. I believe every person has a story; and it is a privilege to be able to tell that story in a way that honours life’s journey so far. I hope to be a storyteller for many years to come!

Treasured memories: I was blessed to marry the love of my life in 1993. We now have four grown children and three grandchildren, whom we adore. Together, hubby and I run our family farm, whilst I also have a career as an early childhood teacher. Just for fun, I dabble in writing, with one history book already in print, two in the process, and four children’s books waiting to be published. I was born and bred in the country, so I am also a lover of animals, with seven cats and five dogs - because you can have as many animals as you like on a farm!

Tips : My biggest tip when helping people write their ceremony is, "Do it your way". It's your story to tell, so be true to yourself and include whatever you want. Together, we can make it happen!
