Dying to know day

Dying to Know Day happens every year on 8th August.

The day focuses on empowering Australian adults and their families to have a discussion about dying and death.  This gives people the opportunity to share their wishes and have say in their end of life plan while they are still able.

Death and dying can be an awkward and uncomfortable topic for some families to bring up with loved ones, but with helpful strategies and converstaion starters, important information can be shared now to reduce the anguish, distress and grief experienced by loved ones later.

The Celebrants Network has a number of experienced, professional and compassionate funeral celebrants who can assist you in a number of elements when planning for the end of life:

- Creating a 'this is your life' story - This is when you tell your story in your own words to a celebrant, who then can create a story, book, timeline of your life.  A wonderful keepsake for family and friends.
- Planning a living wake - Why not be there for your family and friends to say goodbye face to face.
- Pre-funeral planning - If you have specific requirements that you would like for your funeral and have the capacity to arrange things yourself, speak to a celebrant who can do all the planning ahead of time and when the time comes, your family can simply be there for each other without having to make difficult decisions.
- Funeral & Memorial services - If you have already spoken with a funeral celebrant, then they will be fully prepared becuase of your forward planning.
